What is Ozone

Ozone is both a strong oxidizing agent as well as a strong disinfectant. Because of this, both benefits (oxidation and disinfection) can be achieved during the single step of ozonation. Ozone is an effective and simple solution to achieve clean and healthy indoor air quality.

With reference from OzoneSolution.com,"as a comparison based on 99.99% of bacterial concentration being killed and time taken, ozone is:25 times more effective than HOCI(Hypochlorous Acid)2,500 times more effective than Ocl (Hypochlorite)5,000 times more effective than NH2C(Chloramine)Furthermore, ozone is at least ten times stronger than chlorine as a disinfectan."

Ozone is the most powerful oxidative agent that occurs naturally. With its  extra free radical oxygen molecule, ozone is able to destroy germs, viruses, and microbes that may cause surface or air contaminants. Furthermore, ozone leaves no chemical residue typical of alternative detergent or synthetic cleaners, and if handled properly -by converting ozone back to oxygen  molecules -it can be one of the most effective sterilizing tools.

Ozone VS UV light

Ozone is indeed a much more powerful oxidizer than UV.

Hard to reach place is no longer a problem since ozone is a gas, which can deodorize and sanitize in the depths where UV light cannot. Also, it can kill 100% of the bacteria, fungus, viruses and molds.

COVID-19

The Reuters released an article on August 26, 2020 about the effectiveness of Ozone in neutralizing coronavirus, "Japanese researchers said on Wednesday that low concentrations of ozone can neutralise coronavirus particles, potentially providing a way for hospitals to disinfect examination rooms and waiting areas.

Scientists at Fuiita Health University told a news conference they had proven that ozone gas in concentrations of 0.05 to Ol parts per million (ppm), levels considered harmless to humans, could kill the virus.

The experiment used an ozone generator in a sealed chamber with a sample of coronavirus. The potency of the virus declined by more than 90% when subjected to low level ozone for 10 hours.

Fujita Medicaluniversity Hospital, in Aichi prefecture central Japan, has installed ozone generators to reduce infection in waiting areas and patient rooms".
